The Derby Renaissance Board is a private-public-partnership which exercises strategic influence to create a thriving and attractive city for all.
The board meets four times a year, identifying the economic and regeneration priorities for the city, and overseeing strategies to achieve them.
Its membership includes leadership from Derby City Council, the University of Derby, Derby College, the Chamber of Commerce, and Marketing Derby. Business representation includes, Bombardier, Rolls-Royce and Toyota Manufacturing UK, as well as SMEs and representatives from the third sector.
Derby is the UK's Capital for Innovation, home to the world's first factory (now a UNESCO World Heritage site), and is at the cutting-edge of innovation in rail technology, aerospace, and nuclear research and development.
The city hosts the fastest growing economy in the UK and the highest salaries outside of London, but still faces many regeneration, education and skills challenges in the 21st Century.
The Derby Renaissance Board is committed to meeting these challenges through public-private collaboration.
